
Director and Founder David (Davo) Lilley was diagnosed with coeliac disease over 15 years ago. After years of enduring poor choice in the gluten free beer market, he asked himself "Why should ‘choice’ of beer selection be the domain of regular beer drinkers only, when gluten free beer drinkers are just as passionate and discerning of the beer they drink?".
It's not that there weren't many great gluten free beers out there, it's that they were hard to find in the one place. After a nation-wide search, over 20 gluten free beers were identified from 8 separate breweries and these formed the basis for The Gluten Free Beer Shop.
